Local 71 members who have short-term disability benefits through Teamcare are eligible for those benefits if they are under a physician’s care for COVID-19 or have been advised by a physician, teladoc or state agency to self-quarantine.

UPS employees need to contact Aetna to report their disability.

We urge you to read the TeamCare bulletin for all the details.

Short-Term Disability Benefits If You Have COVID-19

You are eligible for short-term disability benefits if you are diagnosed with COVID-19 or are directed to self-quarantine by a medical professional.

If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, you must complete the Coronavirus Short-Term Disability Claim Form. Short-term disability benefits will not be paid at the same time that you are receiving paid leave.

Short-Term Disability Benefits If You Self-Quarantine

If you have been told to self-quarantine, TeamCare will provide short-term disability benefits provided that you have a medical requirement to self-quarantine from Teladoc, a qualified healthcare professional, or a state or federal health agency.

Affected members should complete the Coronavirus Short-Term Disability Claim Form.

What If I’m Laid Off

Teamsters who are on lay-off, leave of absence, or terminated are not eligible for short-term disability.
