On October 4, 2021, every Teamster member in good standing will be mailed a ballot to elect the General Executive Board of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Nominated Candidates for General President of the IBT will participate in a Candidates Forum on Wednesday, September 1 at 6:30pm in Washington, DC. The forum will be live-streamed.
XPO Logistics workers in Trenton and Miami won a major victory and ratified their first Teamster contracts last month. On August 9, Local 71 leaders Willie Ford, Cliff Crawford, Brandon Price and Benji Austin, and Joint Council organizer Edsel McDonald hit the ground to spread the word to XPO workers in our backyard.
Teamsters working at UPS Freight faced some uncertainty when it was announced that Canadian company TFI had acquired UPS Freight earlier this year. When UPS Freight was acquired, the operating ratio was at 99%. But at the end of this quarter, Cowen analyst reported TForce was performing “well ahead of expectations,” with an operating ratio of 90%.

UPS is reportedly installing cameras in package cars over the weekend in the Charlotte hub in Lake Norman and Metro Centers.
